MSHS Pacific Power Group( MSHS PPG) delivers safe and reliable power and propulsion systems

For customers in the power generation, industrial, marine, and national security sectors, the failure of power and propulsion systems is not an option. They need a dependable supplier, that can be trusted to deliver reliability, innovation, and service excellence when it matters most.
This is where MSHS PPG steps in. The business has built its reputation over the past 60 years, continuously building expertise and assembling a worldwide network of technicians and engineers. The team is ready to help customers with reliable and flexible maintenance, repair, and overhaul services, upgrades and retrofits for power, propulsion, and control systems.
This longevity and history in the sector have created established, long-standing relationships, with MSHS PPG working as an extension of its customers’ operations, providing essential services and advice to clients across the world.
A perfect illustration of this is the partnership between MSHS PPG and LaGeo, a state-owned company in El Salvador, focused on developing geothermal energy. Having worked together for two decades, the teams have built close personal relationships, and MSHS PPG frequently goes the extra mile to deliver solutions to LaGeo, overcoming whatever challenges it may encounter.
“ Our relationship with LaGeo began thanks to our key focus on control systems for engines and turbines,” says Paul Zwierstra, Team Lead, Engineering, Fort Lauderdale.“ They asked if we could provide a replacement control system. Not many companies work in the geothermal sector, so we investigated their needs and liaised closely with their team, and we selected what we considered the best option. We pride ourselves on being vendor / brand agnostic, and that means we always look at the most suitable technology for our customers, regardless of manufacturer, and that makes us nimbler in our response times.”
Over 20 years, MSHS PPG has worked on significant contracts with LaGeo, predominantly for full control system refits. Paul explains what this entails.“ We remove existing technology for turbines, and replace it with new, custommade solutions. Thanks to our history together, if LaGeo is developing a new site, they will come to us for control systems and whatever else is needed. LaGeo also appreciates MSHS PPG’ s ability to provide a unified system across all sites. This means staff on-site find maintenance more straightforward, working on a familiar set-up, regardless of location.”
Keith De Luca, Manager, Power Generation at MSHS PPG, emphasizes the key role that MSHS PPG plays in the operation of LaGeo’ s power plants. Indeed, Keith describes the control system as the brains of a power plant, crediting MSHS PPG as performing as LaGeo’ s‘ neurosurgeon’.“ Our services help LaGeo run safely and efficiently, with fewer interruptions and issues. That is why they return to us time and again for support.”
LaGeo and MSHS PPG have created a powerful relationship, and this approach is reflected in MSHS PPG’ s other projects as it actively services power plants that run on both clean and renewable energy, as well as on fossil fuels, for additional clients all over the world, primarily in the Americas, as well as the Caribbean. Having served over 637 power plants over the last 2 years.
Paul notes that due to its expert mechanical design department, MSHS PPG provides services at a‘ completely different level from the competition.’“ We thoroughly test our solutions, including the mechanical side, to ensure everything is up to expectations. We don’ t just buy a box from a supplier and ship it out – we completely customize the solution for the customer, whether that is electronics or hydraulics. I think the fact we can do it all is what our relationships with companies like LaGeo are based on. Our customers trust us because of our level of knowledge, integration and design and they know that our technology is going to deliver the power they need to be successful,” he concludes.
